At BCN, we value real community because we know that real and lasting life change - spiritual transformation - occurs in the unity and diversity of authentic relationships. Our best understanding of the Christian faith is a faith that is meant to be lived in - not individually, but collectively, as part of the Body of Christ.
LifeGroups is the small group ministry of BCN. LifeGroups foster intimacy and trust-building that simply cannot be built in larger settings. With components of Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and the breaking of bread together, the true goal of the LifeGroups ministry at BCN is to help people, while becoming like Christ, experience true life together.
What is your scriptural basis for this ministry?
LifeGroups are more than a program at BCN. As we have already mentioned, it is our understanding that the Christian faith was meant to be lived out in community, not privately. We base this understanding on several scriptural passages, including, but not limited to: Acts 2, Psalm 133, John 13, Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Hebrews 10. A large part of this understanding on our parts is also simply in examining the life of Jesus.
When and where do LifeGroups meet?
Most LifeGroups meet in homes in the community all throughout the week. Sunday night is our most popular meeting night, but we have groups that meet every night of the week. We also have some groups that meet during the morning, and some that meet at local restaurants instead of in homes. LifeGroups should meet at least every other week, and ideally more often than that.
How many people are in a LifeGroup?
LifeGroups should ideally consist of 6-14 individuals, although we have some very healthy groups that are smaller than this and some that are larger. Groups typically begin with 4-6 people, and are welcome to grow as they see fit. As groups begin to grow larger than 12-14, we encourage these groups to multiply themselves and birth a new group.
Is childcare provided?
Every LifeGroup handles childcare differently. LifeGroups are often made up of folks in similar life stages, so the childcare question is usually pertinent to either everyone in the group or no one in the group. Because LifeGroups play such an important role at BCN, the church is willing to partially reimburse parents who pay for childcare in order to be part of a LifeGroup. If you are interested in this, please contact Pastor Brad or Heather Rogers for more information.
What is LG4K?
LG4K is LifeGroups for Kids (1st - 5th grades). Previously known as our Children's Sunday School, LG4K offers lots of fun and creative ways to learn about God's Word. We offer age-appropriate, small group format classes every Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
How can I join a LifeGroup?
