Bridging Church to Neighborhoods

BCN is involved in many community outreach opportunities. God is already at work throughout our neighborhoods and we are blessed to join Him in His work.

Relational Evangelism

One of BCN's Core Values emphasizes the truths found in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23:
"Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."

We believe that by building relationships with others we can truly make an impact on their heart and in their lives. One-on-one interaction is one of the best ways to establish authenticity and credibility so that we may share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.

By going into our neighborhoods, we are following Christ's command to "Go Tell!" We challenge YOU to pray for God to place someone on your mind or reveal a place of service to you and join us in building bridges!

Several of our pastors and people have had the opportunity to build bridges to our glocal neighbors. What an amazing experience to travel halfway around the world and still feel the presence of God and see His hand at work in lives. Pastor Ashley spent time in Africa in the Spring 2007 and Pastor Jason and a team of 15 teens, adults, and grandparents traveled to Honduras on August 2007. Be sure to ask them about their trips!

ftlogo.jpgFor farmers and farm workers throughout the developing world whose livelihoods depend on products that we, Americans, enjoy everyday - coffee, tea, cocoa, etc. - survival can be a struggle. Low prices, market volitility, and isolation often keep these growers in a cycle of poverty. In the 1940s, North American and European churches began an initiative to end the cycle. Fair Trade offers hope, direct access to international markets, fair prices, and the tools and resources necessary to succeed and thrive! Bridge Cafe, BCN's ministry on the campus of Wright State University, is proud to be a Fair Trade certified retailer! You may purchase our amazing fresh ground coffee each Sunday at BCN or at the cafe! Cost is $11.50/lb or $6/half lb.
